About
Discover the vibrant world of Indian fabric art with Folk in Fabric: Applique Traditions of India, where creativity and culture collide!
In this class, we’ll begin by exploring the history of Pipli, a traditional Indian art form known for its vibrant and intricate work dating back to nearly a thousand years ago! We’ll look at some inspiring examples, then dive into creating our own pieces using fabrics and decorative elements. By layering and gluing these materials onto a fabric base, you’ll get hands-on experience with appliqué, the signature technique behind Pipli art and leave with a beautiful piece, preserving an ancient tradition.
